Hormone Balancing Smoothie



Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (a great low-calorie, hormone-friendly base)

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries (rich in antioxidants that support hormonal health)

  • 1/2 banana (provides natural sweetness and potassium)

  • 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed (high in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids, which help balance hormones)

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (rich in omega-3s and fiber, supporting hormone production and detoxification)

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (helps regulate blood sugar, which is crucial for hormonal balance)

  • 1 scoop protein powder (hemp or pea protein preferred) (supports overall health and helps balance hormone levels)

  • 1 tablespoon almond butter (good source of vitamin E and healthy fats)

  • 1/2 teaspoon maca powder (adaptogen that helps support endocrine health and boost libido)

  • Handful of spinach (loaded with magnesium, which plays a key role in hormone regulation)

Instructions:

  1. Combine Ingredients:

    • Place all ingredients in a blender.

  2. Blend Smoothie:

    • Blend on high until smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more almond milk or water to reach your desired consistency.

  3. Serve:

    • Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

Optional Add-ins:

  • Avocado: For extra creaminess and healthy fats, add 1/4 of an avocado.

  • Adaptogens: Besides maca, other adaptogens like ashwagandha can be included to further support hormonal balance.

  • Berries: Swap out or add additional berries like strawberries or raspberries for added nutrients and fiber.

This smoothie not only tastes great but also incorporates ingredients that are beneficial for maintaining hormonal balance, making it a perfect choice for breakfast or as a nourishing snack.
